Tom Ratcliff, pastor of the Nebo Baptist Church, and the Rev. Charles Woods, pastor of the Magnolia Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of the Hixson Bros. Funeral Home of Jena. Mrs. Evans was a native of LaSalle Parish and a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. She is survived by five sons, John M. Evans of Jena, James B. Evans of Jena, Hardie Evans of Neosho, Mo., Hugh Evans of Hessmer, and Earl Evans of Vinton; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Corley of Jena; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Humphries of Hessmer and Mrs. Pinkie Parker of Trout; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers at the funeral were Willie Breland, Ruben Breland, Fillmore Evans, Marshall Smith, Frank Bonner and Berley Gibson.
