All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: January 28, 1958, Thursday Headline: Mary Evelyn Eubanks Succumbs; Rites are Held in Jena Tuesday Mary Evelyn Eubanks, 13 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Eubanks of Route 1, Jena, who died Monday morning at Jena Hospital shortly before 8 o'clock, was buried Tuesday afternoon following services held at 3 o'clock in the East Jena Baptist Church. The child died following a short illness with pneumonia reported to be the cause of death. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Richard and James Arthur; two sisters, Nila and Annetta; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Stringer, and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Arthur Eubanks, all of Jena. The Rev. Ralph Self conducted the final rites, assisted by the Revs. J. R. Miller and J. L. Holt, with interment following in Belah Cemetery under the direction of the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Pallbearers were Jack Lanier, David Jones, A. D. Boyd, Dalton Coleman, Marvin Jones, and Delson Eubanks.
