DATE: Wednesday, October 25, 2000 Page 16A HEADLINE: Area Deaths SUB-HEADLINE: Helen Whatley Elliott Helen Whatley Elliott, 79, of Franklinton, died at 7:15 a.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2000, at the Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. A native of LaSalle Parish, she spent much of her married life in Plaquemines Parish, finally retiring to Mt. Hermon in Washington Parish which reminded her more of her childhood home. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mae McAnally Whatley, but was raised by her maternal grandparents, Rube and Isalee Brooks McAnally, afer her mother's death. Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 20, in the chapel of Crain Funeral Home, Inc., of Franklinton with burial following in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Sheridan of Franklinton; four granddaughters, three step-children, and 12 great-grandchildren.
