Mr. Finley was injured in an automobile accident near Jonesville on November 14th and was conveyed to a Natchez hospital where he remained for seven weeks. Last week he was returned to his father's home here and all of the loving care and medical attention possible was given to him, but he passed away quietly on Saturday afternoon surrounded by the immediate members of his family. "Bud", as Mr. Finely was familiarly known to the people of this section, was born in Stamps, Arkansas, on March 19, 1897, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam H. Finley. Shortly after the Trout mill was started in 1904 the family moved to Trout where they have resided continuously. "Bud" saw service in the World War and was a member of the American Legion. Except for the time he was in the service and a few years spent as a saw mill employee in Jasper, Texas, Mr. Finley has lived in and around Trout. He was married in 1921 to Miss Inez Manchester, to which union three children, Milton, Sam, and Mary Pearl, were born. They, with their mother survive him. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Other relatives surviving him are his father and mother, of Trout, and the following brothers and sisters: Dr. Paul Finley, Bogalusa; Mrs. C. C. North and Mrs. F. N. Steele, Monroe; Mrs. E. E. Dunlap of Jackson, La.; Mrs. C. A. Jones, DeRidder; Mrs. W. B. Jarvis, Trout, and Mrs. N. T. Andrews of Jena. Funeral services were held at the family home on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm, interment following in the Belah Cemetery. Members of the American Legion acted as pall bearers and assisted at the grave with the services being conducted by Rev. A. S. J. Neill, pastor of the Methodist Church, of Jena.
