Finley Passed Away Here Early Monday Morning Harris Alfred Finley, 74 years of age, died at the LaSalle Hotel, of which he was proprietor, about 12:45 o'clock Monday morning, following a brief illness which had confined him to his room only a few days. Although Mr. Finley had been in rather poor health for several weeks, he nor his friends believed that his condition was dangerous until a short time before he passed away. Mr. Finley came to LaSalle Parish from Arkansas in 1915 and had been engaged actively in business here where he had made many friends and acquaintances. At the time of his death he was proprietor of the LaSalle Hotel and Cafe, which he had been operating for some time. Early in life he united with the Baptist Church and was a member of the Jena Church. Funeral services were held at the Jena Baptist Church Monday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. L. D. Posey, pastor, conducting the services. Interment was in Nolley Memorial Cemetery. Besides his widow, Mrs. Carrie Brock Finley, the deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs. Clara White, Mrs. Emma Maddox, daughters; Howard Finley, son; Mrs. Sam Adkinson, sister; Sam Finley and George Finley, brothers. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Kinner & Stevens, undertakers of Jena.
