Ford Dies at Vet's Hospital and Buried at Winnfield Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Winnfield at 11 am on Tuesday for Joseph Erwin Ford, aged 37, who passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Alexandria Monday morning at eight o'clock. Mr. Ford, who resided in Colfax and who was a salesman for the Colfax Motors, Inc., and who formerly lived in Jena had been ill for the past ten days with pneumonia, which followed an attack of the influenza. He was conveyed to the Veteran's Hospital last Friday and everything that loving care and medical skill could do proved of no effort and he passed away early Monday morning. Interment in the Winnfield Cemetery followed the funeral services at the church. Rev. L. D. Posey, pastor of the Jena Baptist Church, and a lifelong friend of the family officiated. The deceased is survived by his wife and three children as follows: Katheryn, Eula, Dan, and James Erwin. He also leaves his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Ford, of Coushatta; one brother, Edwin Ford of Winn Parish; and three sisters, Mrs. Claud Jones, Coushatta; Mrs. Iley Vickers of Winnfield; and Mrs. Bell Fletcher of Oklahoma.
