Fairbanks, 79, of Wildsville, died at the Catahoula Parish Hospital last Thursday, January 17, 1974. He was a retired farmer, deacon of Evangeline Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. Funeral services were held at Evangeline Baptist Church of Wildsville at 11 a.m. Saturday with Revs. Willard Sandifer, J. O. McNair, and S. B. Spinks officiating. Interment followed in Evangeline Cemetery of Wildsville under arrangements by Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mamie Linzy Fairbanks of Wildsville; two daughters, Mrs. Lesley Parker of Jena and Mrs. Theresa Jones of Wildsville; two sons, Gerald Fairbanks of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ronald L. Fairbanks of Wildsville; one sister, Mrs. May Hawthorne of Jonesville; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were James Edward Hutchins, Skeet Tosspen, Clyd LaCroix, Ralph Fairbanks, Ronald Hawthorne, Bob Hutchins, Reggie LaCroix, and Fred Fairbanks.
