He was a native of Olla, worked many years in the oilfield as a tool pusher and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Services were held Saturday, August 14, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune, Miss. Survivors include his wife, Mirian "Mike" McLendon Franklin of Carriere; two daughters, Cynthia Howell of Picayune, and Sue Raymond of Arabi; three sons, Lamar Franklin, Jr., of Tullos, Ronald Franklin of Carriere, and Kevin Franklin of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, James Franklin and Gary Franklin, both of Grayson; three sisters, Carol Weaver of Anacoco, Evelyn Eubanks of Jena and Debbie Franklin of Many and several grandchildren.
