Headline:  Mrs. Cassie Ellen Fairbanks Succumbs, Services Are Held

Mrs. Cassie Ellen Fairbanks, a resident of Jena since 1921, died Wednesday, 
Feb. 19 at approximately 3:30 a.m. at her residence.  She was 87 years of age.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Temple Baptist 
Church with the Revs. S. B. Spinks and K. G. Brooks officiating.  Burial was 
in Wilbanks Cemetery of Summerville under the direction of Hixson Brothers 
Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ceola Kennon of Trout and Mrs. Mary 
Tarver of Jena; two sons, Rodell Fairbanks of Ponchatoula and Guy Fairbanks 
of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Elzie Husbands of Harrisonburg; one sister, 
Mrs. Hattie Kirl of West Columbia, Texas; 21 grandchildren, and 35 
great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Joe Tarver, Phinn Kennon, Chester Nugent, Lawrence Nugent, 
J. E. Nugent, and Ganie Fairbanks.
