Ford Found Dead Charles Ford, aged sixty, was found dead in his home near Nickel by his brother, Monroe Ford, and his uncle, Johnnie Watson, at eleven o'clock last Sunday morning. He has been dead for some time, possibly ten days or two weeks, but because of the secluded life which he led his body was not found until Sunday. At the coroner's inquest which was held Sunday night at eleven o'clock the unanimous verdict of the jury was that the man had been dead for ten days or two weeks. Dr. Fred Hamilton, parish coroner, stated that he was o the opinion that Ford froze to death during the cold weather of the first week of the year. There is a possibility that he could have died of hunger. Dr. Hamilton said that the position of the body when found, half out of the bed, seemed to point toward this theory. The coroners jury that brought in the verdict given above was composed of the following men, L. D. Frazier, J. N. Grey, Virgil Corley, M. O. Poole, and L. M. Anders. Because of the badly decomposed condition of the body it was buried near the house where it was found in an improvised casket as soon as the inquest had been held. Ford is survived by four brothers, Andrew of Delhi, Will and Monroe, of Nickel, and Riley of Rosefield and one sister, Mrs. Monet Anders, of Nickel.
