Frank C. Flowers, superintendent of the Baptist Children's Home at Monroe. Rev. Flowers is known affectionately by people of all Louisiana as "Daddy" Flowers. He died in a Detroit Sanitarium where he had gone for treatment after an operation at the Baptist Hospital at New Orleans about a month ago. "Daddy" Flowers had been ill for several months but when the State Baptist Convention met in Minden this fall he was able to attend with the children from the "Home" at Monroe. He had been superintendent of the Orphanage for the past twelve years and prior to taking up these duties he had held several pastorates in this and other states. He is survived by a wife and two sons, Paul and a younger son, and one hundred and seventy-five children in the orphanage at Monroe. The body was shipped to Monroe for Detroit and arrived on Wednesday. The funeral will be held this afternoon (Thursday), when a host of people will be gathered to honor in death a man that had held their utmost love and admiration in life. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Flowers and Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Smith from Jena motored to Monroe to attend the funeral.
