Born in 1863, she was 64 years, 9 months, and 11 days old at the time of her death. In 1878, she was married to W. B. Floyd, who proceeded her to the grave several years ago. Surviving Mrs. Floyd are the following sons and daughters: Ben and Alex of Jena; Homer, Duggie and Butler of Good Pine; Mrs. Lois Edwards, Jena; Mrs. Lydia Henderson, Jena; and Mrs. Ellis Ward, of Good Pine. Funeral services were held at the Midway Baptist Church, Rev. J. H. Smith, officiating, interment being made at the Jena Cemetery at 4 o'clock. JENA TIMES, October 13, 1927 (describing the auto wreck) Headline: Two Women Critically Injured in Auto Wreck Here Tuesday Morning (Late reports from the Alexandria sanitarium, are to the effect that Mrs. Floyd's condition is critical. A telephone message to Jena at noon Thursday stated that her death was expected momentarily.) Mrs. Clara Reams, aged 78, is in the Charity Hospital in Shreveport in a critical condition as a result of an automobile accident which occurred in Old Jena Tuesday morning. According to the occupants of the car in which Mrs. Reams was riding and which was driven by Mrs. Barney Henderson, a young boy named Meyers, driving a Fort touring car, attempted to pass them near the overhead bridge on the Rhinehart-Jena Road. A car coming in the opposite direction caused Young Meyers to sway his car into the Henderson car, throwing it off the road into a ditch, resulting in the Ford sedan, driven by Mrs. Henderson being badly demolished and badly bruising Mrs. reams, Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. W. C. Floyd, also an occupant. The three women were conveyed to the office of Dr. W. H. Floyd in Jena, where upon examination it was found that Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Floyd were badly bruised and lacerated and Mrs. Reams had a broken thigh as well as several bruises. Mrs. Floyd was conveyed to the Alexandria sanitarium where an X-ray picture was made, although no serious implications were found. Mrs. Reams was rushed to the Shreveport Charity Hospital and it is not thought that she will live, due to the seriousness of the many bruises about her body and her old age. The accident occurred about 8 o'clock Tuesday morning.
