Mr. Francis was apparently in good health and at the noon hour he ate his usual meal and returned to his cotton field, accompanied by a daughter about 16 years old. Suddenly without any indication of illness, he fell to the ground and was dead in less than one minute. He is survived by his wife and four children, and numerous relatives. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, in the presence of a very large assembly of neighbors and friends of the deceased. He was a man of excellent character, and much admired by all who knew him.
