All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Funeral Services For Mrs. Lucinda Griggin Held on December 25 Funeral services for Mrs. Lucinda Ford Griffin, who had lived in Jena all but the last seven of her 86 years, were held Sunday, Dec. 25, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist church in Jena. Mrs. Griffin, known to her many friends and relatives at Aunt Nettie, died on Friday, Dec. 23, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.T. Mitchell in Houston, Tex. Mrs. Griffin had made her home in Houston for the past seven years. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J.P. Owens, pastor of the First Baptist church in Jena, and funeral arrangements were made by the Hixon Brothers funeral home, Jena. Interment was at the Hare cemetery. Mrs. Griffin is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lorena Poole and Mrs. W.W. Doyle of Jena, and Mrs. H.T. Mitchell of Houston, Tex.; and four sons, T.T. and J.R. Griffin of Port Arthur, Tex., F.E. Griffin of Midway, and Fred Griffin of Lake Charles.
