Griffin Of Trout Dies John Robert Griffin, 85, of Rt. 1, Trout, died Monday, March 5 at 12:15 a.m. in Jena hospital. He was a retired farmer. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Eden Methodist church with the Rev. John C. Rousseaux and the Rev. S.B. Spinks officiating. Burial followed in Eden cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brother funeral home of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. John R. Griffin; one daughter, Mrs. Mary G. Haynes of Rt. 1, Trout; four sons, V.J. Griffin of Dallas, Texas, Clarence Griffin of Clarksville, Texas, S.C. Griffin of Longview, Texas, and T.O. Griffin of Rt. 1, Trout; one brother, Virgil Griffin of Mantee, Miss.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Alonzo M. Taylor, Paul Strozier, W.E. Francis, Gilbert Duke, Jean Andrews and Pete Doughty.
