M. Two men were drowned in Catahoula Parish near the LaSalle Parish line Sunday when their boat apparently capsized. Paul Bourgeois, 52, of Marksville, and Michael Guillot, 17, of Echo, were the victims, it was reported. According to authorities, the boat overturned in Duck Bayou, off of Saline. LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Deputy Coy Doughty said Placid notified the Sheriff's office that the boat was seen overturned in the area. One of Placid's workers in the area noticed it. Doughty said he then called for help and authorities went to the scene. He said they found the bodies quickly, as they both were near the boat.
