He was a mill wright. Services were conducted Sunday at 2:30 p. m. from the Zenoria Baptist Church with the Revs. Leslie McCartney and Coda Salter in charge. Burial was in Chalk Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include Gilmore's wife, Mrs. Aline Gilmore of Zenoria; one daughter, Mrs. Van H. Schmutz of Lake Charles; one brother, J. P. Gilmore of Tullos; three sons, John T. Gilmore of Lake Charles, Shelby J. Gilmore of the U. S. Navy, Albert H. Gilmore of Zenoria; two sisters, Mrs. Ivy Hutchins of Harrisonburg, Mrs. Mellie Ebby of Alexandria; his mother, Mrs. Cora Maxwell Gilmore of Zenoria and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bud Miles, Carson Weaver, Bass Brister, Pat McBroom, Jim Whatley and Haskell McBroom.
