Gayden of Huntsville, Texas were victims of a traffic accident in Fairfield, Texas, on Saturday, July 29, 2000. Linda, 26, died at the scene and Samuel, 38, died a short time later at the Mother of Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas. He was employed by Exxon, was a member of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of Desert Storm. She was a teacher and a member of the Baptist faith. Joint funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, at Bethel Church of God in Christ in Monroe with Rev. Tom Baker officiating. Interment for Samuel Gayden was held at Richwood Memorial Gardens in Richwood under direction of Gayden Funeral Home of Jena. Linda was buried at Holly Ridge Cemetery in Leland, Mississippi, under direction of Gayden Funeral Home of Jena. The couple is survived by a daughter, Linneshia Gayden of Huntsville; two sons, Samuel Gayden, Jr. and Jermaine Taylor, both of Huntsville. Linda is also survived by her mother and father Bertha Fair and Joe Lewis Taylor, both of Indianola, Ms.; seven brothers, John Fair and James Fair, both of Irving, Tx.; Aaron Fair of Chicago, Ill.; Walter Skinner, Charles Fair and Joe Fair of Memphis, Tn.; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives. Samuel is also survived by his mother, Gertrude Gayden of Monroe; nine brothers, Jerry Clark of Houston, Tx.; Robert Gayden of Forney, Tx.; Leroy Gayden of Arlington, Tx.; Julius Gayden of the U.S. Navy; Charles Gayden of Jena; William Gayden, Ronnie Clark, James Gayden, and Leon Turner, all of Monroe; six sisters, Mary Monroe of Peoria, Ill.; Betty Strong of Irving, Tx.; Leola Bryant, Mary Allen, Alice Clark, and Olevia Clark, all of Monroe; and a host of Aunts, Uncles and other relatives.
