Ruth Durham Garner

Ruth Durham Garner, 78, of Houma, and a native of Urania, died at 2:50 p.m.,
Wednesday, November 7, 2001.

She was a retired recovery room ward clerk for Terrebonne general Medical
Center for 28 years and the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary McDonald
Durham.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 9, at the First United
Pentecostal Church in houma.

Burial followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery of Houma under direction of
Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. of Houma.

Survivors include three sons, Allen Garner and Monty Garner, both of Houma and
Jeffery Garner of Jayess, Ms.; one daughter, Carol Scott of Houma; four
brothers, J. D. Durham of West Monroe, Buddy Durham of Ferriday, Clarence
Durham of Jena and D. L. Durham of Urania; two sisters, Lois Rogers of Urania
and Bernice Carlisle of Pine Bluff, Ark.; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-
grandchildren.
