Gammill, Sr., 75, Dies Suddenly; Rites are Held at Tullos Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock this (Thurs.) afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Tullos for W. E. gammill, Sr., who died suddenly at his place of business Tuesday morning about 10:30 o'clock. An automobile dealer, Mr. Gammill operated the Chevrolet agency in Tullos and, also one in Olla. It was believed that a heart attack was the cause of his death. Mr. Gammill had been troubled with a heart condition for a number of years, having suffered a severe attack in 1945 and again in 1953, but reportedly was well and feeling in the best of health and spirit at the time of his death. He was 75 years of age. The Rev. B. T. Milford, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Tullos, of which Mr. Gammill was a staunch and active member, had charge of the funeral services. He was assisted by the Rev. F. W. Hart of Baton Rouge and the Rev. Luther Hall of Farmerville, both former pastors of Mr. gammill. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery near Pineville. In addition to his active work in the church, Mr. Gammill also was a faithful member of the Tullos Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. W. E. Gammill, Sr., of Tullos; a son, W. E. Jr., also of Tullos; two daughters, Mrs. E. W. Sehon of Delhi and Mrs. Lois Tuthill of Tullos; two brothers, J. W. of Burney, Calif., and J. E. of Silsbee, Texas; five sisters, Miss Daisy Gammill of Burney, Mrs. Rose Smith of Georgetown, Mrs. Emma Rowe of Huntington Beach, Calif., Mrs. Mattie Kirkham of Torrance, Calif., and Mrs. Katie Laforge of Marble Falls, Texas, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
