All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: May 4, 1933 Headline: Farrell Gorham, Well Known Here Dies at Home in Winnfield Farrell Halwood Gorham, 28 years and seven days of age, died at the family home east of Winnfield, Monday, April 24, 1933, 9:30 o'clock having been brought back from the Charity Hospital in Shreveport at 12:00 that day. Funeral services were conducted at the Gorham Cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Alwin Stokes, Pastor Presbyterian Church had charge of the services, assisted by Rev. Ellis Smith, Pastor First Methodist Church. On November 18th, 1931, Farrell Gorham was injured in a fall while employed by a lumber company at Good Pine. He was carried immediately to the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria, where he stayed until February 26, 1932. He was then brought to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Gorham, of Winnfield. On January 13, 1933, he was taken to the Charity Hospital, Shreveport, but doctors advised his people that nothing could be done to lessen his suffering and to bring him home. Gorham was well known here, having resided her several years.
