He was a retired operator with Truckline Gas Company at Pollock and a veteran of World War II. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Terry Doughty and Charlie Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Eden Cemetery in the Eden Community under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Martha Stephens Greer of Trout; one daughter, Paula Virginia Toler of Jena; two sons, Stephens Aubrey Greer of Milwaukee, Wis., and Gary Glenn Greer of Rodgers; three sisters, Elmer R. Greer and Cleo Steen, both of Midway, and Bertis Hodge of Jena; one brother, Marion Lee Greer of Hurricane Creek; and two grandsons. Pallbearers were Ronnie Loe, Reggie Loe, Chet Whatley, Phillip Thompson, Eldridge "Punk" Bennett, and Lonnie Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Tingle, Edmond Greer, Charles Earl Greer, John Marion Greer, and Brad Stephens.
