Holland, State Senator, Well Known Here, Dies Monday State Senator Thomas M. Holland of Tangipahoa-St. Helena District, died suddenly at his home in Greensburg on Monday night, March 16. Mr. Holland was well-known in Jena having visited here several times. He was a classmate of P. S. Gaharan, Jr., at Louisiana State University. Senator Holland was 38 years old and had been in poor health for at least two yeas, but his death was unexpected. He was first elected to the state senate in 1932 and was re-elected for a second term in the January 21 primary. He was a leader of the state administration forces. He was the son of the late Thomas M. Holland, veteran editor of the Greensburg Echo, a weekly newspaper and of Etta Shaw Holland. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Doris Lindsey of Greensburg, and a 16 month old son, Philip, and a month old daughter, Dorothy Anne Holland; four sisters Mrs. O. G. Price of Covington, La., Miss Lillie Holland and Mrs. H. W. Lindsey, Jr., of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Edwin Schilling of Greensburg and two brothers, Lake Holland of New Orleans and Clyde Holland of Greensburg
