"Bob" Hord Robert L. "Bob" Hord, 78, of Jena, died at 10;30 p.m., Monday, December 20, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center in Daphne, Alabama. A veteran, he was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Illinois, to the union of Ed and Blanche Crum Hord. Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Jimmy Keene and Byron Norris officiating. Interment followed in Woodland Cemetery of Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Sybil Hord of Jena; one daughter, Diane Crow of Fair Hope, Ala.; two sons, Tom Hord of Kemah, Tx., and Jerry Hord of Friendswood, Tx.; one sister, LaNora Swaney of Urvana, Il.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Bell, Ricky Bell, Carl Kellog, Mike Swaney, Tom Hord, Jr., and J. Coldiron. Honorary pallbearers were Beverly Bell, Eldridge Parker and Buster Scroggs.
