Hewette, Jr., 88, of Georgetown, died at 9:01 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2000, at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church and a retired pipeline inspector. Services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 10, at Georgetown Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffin officiating. Interment followed in the Georgetown Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Faye Holloway of Georgetown; one sister, Lily Mae Mosley of Starksville, Miss.; one brother, J. B. Hewette of Carbondale, ill.; and one grandson. Pallbearers were Roy Max Brazzell, Quentin Ates, A. W. Ates, John Ropp, Bill Budemer, and Johnny C. Maxwell. Honorary pallbearers were Donnis Green, Jess Edwards, and Lyndall McKay.
