Headline:  Brother of Jena Woman Passes Away at Port Union
Sub-Headline:  Jena Relatives Attend Funeral of Tom Hay Which was Held Last 
Wednesday

Mr. Tom Hay, 76 years of age, died at his home at Port Union, 15 miles from 
Monroe early Wednesday morning, September 2, following an illness of two 
years.  He was a brother to Mrs. C. G. Phillips, of Jena.  Mrs. Phillips, in 
company with her sons, Charlie and James, and her daughter, Miss Wilhelmina 
Phillips, left Jena early Wednesday morning to attend the funeral.  They 
returned late Thursday afternoon.  Interment was made in Pleasant Hill 
Cemetery, with the pastor of the West Monroe Baptist Church conducting the 
funeral services.
