From The Jena Times - Olla Tullos Signal Date: November 29, 2000 Front Page and continued on page 3A Former Jena Alderman dies; services held James Emerson "Jim" Hall, a former Jena alderman, died at 6:50 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia Heights. Hall, 74, of Jena, served as an Alderman on the Jena Town Council for 20 years, from 1966 to 1986. During his five terms on the Council, the Town of Jena was named as recipient of the Louisiana Municipal Award for Louisiana in 1969, 1972, and 1985. Hall was also a retired Executive Vice President of Bank of Jena, where he served for 26 years. Hall was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jena and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was born December 25, 1925, at Monterey to the union of John H. and Ester Rice Hall. Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with James Tooke and Norman Welch officiating. Interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery of Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Hall of Columbia; one daughter, Khris Hall McKeithen of Columbia; one son, John Hall of Jena; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Raymond Hall, Jr., Timothy Jay Hall, Robert Broadnax, Cleveland riser, David McKeithen, and Kenneth Stephenson.
