G. "Dick" Hooter, 63, of Keithville and a native of LaSalle Parish, died Thursday, March 21, 1991, at Frierson Farm as a result of a tractor accident. He was born in Midway Community, the son of the late John and Nellie Hooter. He graduated Jena High School in 1945. He had resided in Keithville for the past 15 years. He was a retired general foreman for SWEPCO and a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army. Services were held at 10 a.m. on March 25 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial followed at Centuries Memorial Park under direction of Rose-Neath. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Maggie) Hooter of Keithville; two sons, Major Richard G. Hooter of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and James C. Hooter of Shreveport; 4 grandsons; one great-grandson; one sister, Peggy Smith of Shreveport; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Paul Hooter, Steven Hooter, John Hooter, Phillip Hooter, Charles Smith and Ernest Hooter. Honorary Pallbearers were David Acklen, Dick Barnes, Bill Bowman, Jim Brannon, Randall Brumley, Howard Daniel, J. D. Ebarb, Charles Ford, Jack Heins, John Maxey, Bill Salter, and C. J. Worm.
