All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Calvin Jones Dies In Arizona On Thursday, March 24 On last Thursday, March 24th many hearts were saddened in Good Pine and Jena when news reached here of the death of Mrs. Cecile Jones, age 22. Before her marriage a few years ago she was Miss Cecile LeGender, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. LeGender of Good Pine and had resided in Good Pine up until about one year ago when she and Mr. Jones movedto McNary, Arizona. Death came on Thursday, March 24th at 9 a.m. and was caused by scarlet fever. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Methodist church and of the Eastern Star, at Trout, Louisiana. Funeral services were held in Jena on March 28, 1938 with the Rev. Melton of LeCompte officiating. Interment was made at the Nolley Memorial cemetery here. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Kinner and Stevens local undertakers. Surviving her are her husband, Calvin Jones; one son, Charles D. Jones and her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. H. LeGender, all of Good Pine.
