Jones Was Buried Here on Tuesday P. M. Sub-Headline: Operated Furniture Store in Jena for Period of Nine Years Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon for F. A. Jones, aged 69 years, who passed away at the home of his son, Lloyd Jones, in Jena on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Jones had been in ill health for sometime and his death, while probably not unexpected, caused widespread grief among his many friends through this section. He came to Jena about nine years ago from Houston, Texas, and opened up the Jena Furniture Store, which he successfully operated up until the time of his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had always identified himself with the civic life of the city and could always be depended upon to do his part in any public undertaking. The funeral services were held at his son's home, interment following in the Nolly Memorial Cemetery. Rev. L. D. Posey, pastor of the Baptist Church and Rev. A. S. J. Neill, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, officiated and quite a large crowd of friends were present to pay their last respects to his memory. Surviving the deceased are one son, Lloyd Jones, of Jena and one daughter, Mrs. R. M. White, of Helena, Arkansas. One brother, Len Jones, of Jena and three sisters, Mrs. O. L. Marvin, Jonesville, Mrs. M. E. Brown, Sicily Island and Mrs. T. N. Nickles, of Washington, Mississippi, also are left to mourn his passing. The Jena Times joins with the rest of the citizenship of this section in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family of this good man.
