Headline:  Area Deaths

Rev. Ernest Johnson, Sr., 51, of Jena, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999, in 
LaSalle General hospital of Jena.

He was a Baptist minister and a correctional officer.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Antioch Baptist Church 
with the Rev. Michael Reed, Sr., officiating.

Interment followed in Webster Cemetery of Good Pine under direction of Gayden 
Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie B. Johnson of Jena; two daughters, 
Antionette Y. Johnson of Jena and Trina L. Johnson of Baton Rouge; two sons, 
Ernest Johnson, Jr., and Josh D. Johnson, both of Jena; his mother, Elsie 
Johnson of Gardena, California; seven brothers, Herman Johnson and Charley 
Johnson, both of Gardena, California, Eddie Johnson of Compton,  California, 
Elijah Johnson, Jr., of Dallas, Texas, MacArthur Johnson of Houma, Dale 
Johnson and Willie Johnson, both of Jena; three sisters, Annette Bowden and 
Maggie Jones, both of Gardena, California, and Katherine Cooper of Palmdale, 
California.
