He was a veteran of World War I. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Alton Fleming and the Rev. Leon Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Georgia Jernigan of Blade; one daughter, Mrs. Ineta Bradford of Blade; one sister, Mrs. J. L. Doughty of Rhinehart; and five grandchildren.
