He was a World War I veteran. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church of Jena with the Rev. Lawrence Poole, the Rev. Carroll Bradford and the Rev. Genie Walker officiating. Burial followed at Jena Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rhoda Jones of Jena; three sons, James L. Jones and David L. Jones, both of Jena and Wilburn B. Jones of Dallas, Texas; one brother, B. F. Jones of Jena; one sister, Mrs. Nannie Price of Jena; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were James Hodges, Edward Smith, Donald Ray Doughty, Alfrus Tarver, Drewett Smith and Elmo Tullos.
