He was a lifetime resident of the area. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Belah Methodist Church with the Rev. Grover Ganey, the Rev. Charlie Vickers and the Rev. S. B. Spinks officiating. Burial followed in Belah Cemetery under the directions of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Janie Francis and Mrs. Winnie Edwards, both of Trout and Mrs. Thelma Cockerham of Ruston; four sons, Willie, Lonnie, Claude, and Cecil, all of Trout; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Haase of Morgan City; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Don Cupples, Larry Bradford, Dee Jones, Tommy Francis, Joe Jones and Herbert Cockerham. Honorary pallbearers were Edward Scott, Marshall Coile, Jr., and Johnny McCain.
