Keene Succumbs at Jena Hosp., Rites Here Mr. Carl Thomas Keene, 82, of Jena, died at 11;30 pm Sunday at Jena Hospital. Mr. Keene had been a resident of Jena since 1940 and was employed as a night watchman here. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at East Jena Church of God with the Revs. J. P. Nolan and John Blow officiating. Burial was in Forsythe Cemetery at Jena with arrangements by Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Jena. Graveside services were conducted by the ministers. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Lovell and Mrs. Maude Letney; three sons, Lendell of Baytown, Tex., Wayne of Miami, Fla., and Oliver of Texas; three brothers, Webb and Jim, both of Jena, and Homer of Watsonville; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Sandifer of West Monroe; and 21 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ted Coleman, G. F. Coleman, Cleveland Taylor, J. L. Keene, Joe Lasayone, and Calvin Ainsworth.
