Mr. Pheris, of Slaughter, La., officiating. Interment took place in the Nolley Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. King was before her marriage, Martha Stratton, and was born in Greenville, Mo. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Pasche of Midway; Mrs. Myrtle Flowers of Trout; Mrs. maim Smith of Jena; Mrs. Blanche Irby of Wet Monroe; and one son, Harvey King of Midway; 30 grandchildren and a great number of great-grandchildren. SUBMITTED BY THE FAMILY The Death Angel knocked at our dear mother's door at 1:30 a.m., Thursday, February 17, 1949, and took her to be with Jesus. She lived a sacred life. Had been sick for some time with heart trouble, only in bed nine days. During her illness, just before she went to sleep, she told them she would preach when she awoke. She did and her subject was St. John, Third Chapter, 14th Verse, "As Moses lifted up the Serpent in the wilderness even so shall the son of man be lifted up." She had lots of love and charity and many friends. We hated to give her up, but God knows best. All we can do is just live for Jesus and meet your Mother. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home.
