He was a plumbing contractor and member of the Belah United Pentecostal Church. He was born July 22, 1938, in Alta Loma, Texas, to the union of Frank and Elouise Pender Kirl. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, at East Jena Baptist Church with the Revs. David Hutchinson, Mike Poole, and Craig James officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Collins Kirl of Jena; one daughter, Annette K. Cader of Jena; two sons, Edwin Kirl of Tioga and Larry Kirl of Jena; two sisters, Ann Pritchard of Summerville and Mary Craft of Jena; one brother, T. W. Kirl of Summerville; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Leavon Ainsworth, Danny Corley, Don Corley, David "Lum" Myles, Clifford Poole, and Rocky Weaver. Honorary pallbearers were J. W. Nix and Andrew "Spanky" Neal.
