"Doodle" King, 62, of Denham Springs, died at 9 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2001, at his residence. He was an irrigation specialist and a veteran of the U.S. Military. He was born at Jena on Nov. 23, 1938, to the union of Harvey P. and Clara Miller King. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 14, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. J. C. Edwards officiating. Interment followed at the Belah Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena. Survivors include three sons, Mike King of Shreveport, Larry King of Pineville and Lesley King of Jena; one step-daughter, Edwina Sharp of Lake Charles; three brothers, Jerry King and Terry King, both of Jena and Harley King of White Oak, Texas; one grandchild andfive step-grandchildren. Nephews served as pallbearers.
