Kiser Dies Sunday; Buried in Texarkana Sub-Headline: Good Pine Store Manager Had Been Sick for Several Days Funeral services were held in Texarkana Monday afternoon for Ned L. Kiser, aged 63, who passed away in a Shreveport sanitarium on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The funeral services were held at the home of his niece, Mrs. J. E. Daniels, with interment following in a Texarkana cemetery, under the auspices of the Masonic Fraternity of which he was a member. Mr. Kiser served as store manager for the Trout Creek-Good Pine Lumber companies for over 30 years, during which time he made many fiends throughout this section. He had always identified himself with the social, civic and religious life of this community and was worshipful master of Carlette Lodge, No. 312 at the time of his death. He was a former director of the Bank of Jena and was a director of the lumber companies at the time of his death. The deceased came to Jena from Stamps, Ark., when the Trout mill first started and became store manager. After the Good Pine mill began operations, he was also placed in charge of the store for that place. When the store at Good Pine burned a few years ago the two stores were consolidated and Mr. Kiser was instrumental in the erection of the large combined store at Good Pine. The following members of Carletta Lodge went to Texarkana to attend the funeral: E. P. Gamewell, I. C. Albright, Joe Husbands, E. N. Purser, Allan Brown, Nimrod Andrews, I. L. May and J. R. Schneider Mr. Kiser is survived by his wife, who was Miss Minerva Tucker before their marriage, and one sister, Mrs. J. E. Hall, of Mechanicsburg, Illinois. Active pallbearers were J. R. Schneider, E. P. Gamewell, Allan Brown, I. C. Albright, J. W. Husband, E. N. Purser, of Good Pine; L. Schneider, of Minden, and W. M. Sheafe, of Shreveport. Honorary pallbearers were: J. A. Buchanan, C. L. Cabe, J. G. Boyce, W. J. Buchanan, S. M. Pagan, J. L. Collins, of Texarkana, and E. D. Brown, of Minden. The Jena Times joins with the many friends of the family in expressing sincere sympathy I the death of this good man.
