He was born May 26, 1944, at Ruston to the union of Bertis Leon and Gayle Martin Loe. He was a certified public accountant and a former member of the Tullos Tow Council. He was also a member of St. Williams Catholic Church at Olla. Loe was a veteran of the United States military, being honorably discharged with the following distinctions: good conduct medal, national defense service medal, combat air crew insignia with three bronze stars, Vietnam service medal with two bronze stars and Vietnam campaign medal with device. Services were held 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 13, from the Olla United Methodist Church with Father Peter Grant officiating. Interment followed in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Survivors include his wife, Linda C. Loe of Tullos; one son, Bert Loe of Monroe; one daughter, Lisa Fallis of Pineville; one brother, Bobby Loe of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; three sisters, Patricia Baldwin of Ft. Worth, Tx., Ruth O'Neillion of Alexandria and Bettye Cornwell of Olla; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers were James Thornton, John Thornton, David Lansdale, Ricky Harris, Robert Hosea, and M. W. Fife. Memorials can be made to one's favorite charity.
