The Rev. Ralph Self conducted the final rites, with interment following in the Jena Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. A retired railroad man, Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Lewis of Jena; three daughters, Mrs. Homer Peppers of Jena, Mrs. Joe Bean of Westminister, Calif., and Mrs. John Wauhop of Houston, Texas; two sons, Earl E. Lewis of Klickitat, Wash., and Alton E. Lewis of Modesta, Calif.; a half-brother, J. Ward of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers for the final rites were Cade Smith, Frank Peppers, Ervin Stringer, Leroy Rodriguez, James Karriker, and J. M. Girlinghouse.
