It is said that a difficulty arose between the two men regarding the removal of some fence from the property occupied by Richardson, but which had been occupied by Lollie some three years previous. Reports say that Lollie chased Richardson with a knife and that Richardson fired in self defense. The killing took place just before the grand jury was ready to adjourn about noon last Saturday and Richardson was freed within a short time after the killing.
