James K. Lambert, publisher of the Natchez Democrat, died suddenly at his home in that city Tuesday morning and his death was received a severe shock to the citizens of Natchez and surrounding community as he had not been ill. Mr. Lambert was the son of the late Captain James W. Lambert, who also published the Democrat, the paper having been in the family for 50 years. He had always interested himself in the Natchez territory, having made frequent trips into LaSalle and Catahoula parishes which he had boosted from time to time through the columns of his newspaper. The Times joins with the other friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
