Leonard of Trout Succumbs William Edward Leonard, 70, of Trout died Saturday at 1:55 p.m. in an Alexandria hospital. He was a World War I veteran. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Searcy Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Jelks officiating. Burial followed in Thomas Cemetery under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Tennie Walker Leonard of Trout; three daughters, Mrs. Florine Byrnes of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Katherine Hudson of Spendora, Texas, and Mrs. Helen Hastings of Summerdale, Ala.; three sons, Roy L. Leonard of Trout, W. L. Leonard of Ponchatoula and H. a. Dunn of Trout; three brothers, F. C. Leonard of Denham Springs, Fred Leonard f Franklinton and Thomas Leonard of Houston, Texas; 30 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Earl K. Brooks, Garthian Stapleton, Jerry J. Jones, Charles R. Slay, Leland Walker, Jr., and Emmanuel E. Jones, Jr. Military rites were conducted by the Jena National Guard Unit and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
