T. Miles, 208 Mitchell Lane, were held at the family residence in West Monroe Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. E. Huntsberry, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment was in Riverview Burial Park, Monroe. Young Miles was a grandson of Mrs. J. D. Russell, Sr., of Jena. The youth, a pupil at Crosley School, met instant death Wednesday evening at 6:30 o'clock, when he fell or was thrown from a horse when the animal ran against a fence. Jack with two companions, Jimmy Cudd of 310 South Riverfront, and Thomas Younse of 514 South Riverfront, were horseback riding on the White's Ferry Road and were at a point near the Old Travelers Rest Dairy when the fatal accident occurred. In attempting to guide the horse through a gate, the animal struck the fence and young Miles was thrown to the ground, striking head first and breaking his neck. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Miles; two sisters, Mrs. Ross Davis and Miss Marjorie Miles; and three brothers, Aubrey, Harold and Russell Miles, all of West Monroe.
