Headline:  Monroe Mitchell of Olla Succumbs

Monroe Dan Mitchell, 82, died suddenly in the home of his daughter, Mrs. 
Howard Hendrix of Rt. 1, Olla, at 9:45 p.m., Tuesday.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Olla Baptist Church 
with the Rev. Filer J. Seals and the Rev. B. B. Cox officiating.  Burial 
followed at Beech Creek Cemetery near Olla under the direction of Hixson 
Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

Mitchell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Mitchell of Olla; four 
daughters, Mrs. Howard Hendrix of Olla, Mrs. Alvin Wright of Morris, Mich., 
Mrs. Ida Broussard of Lake Charles, Mrs. Earl Nugent of Bastrop; one son, L. 
L. Mitchell of Monroe; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Homer, L. O. and J. D. Hendrix, Jerry Nugent, 
Alvie and Sherman Snoddy.
