She was descended from a pioneer family of Winn Parish and had been a lifelong resident of the Dodson area. Mrs. Mixon's funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Dodson Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edgar Cripps and the Rev. Ray Prager conducting the final rites. Interment will follow in the Gansville Cemetery. The youngest daughter of the late John Mills Wasson and Sara Holmes Wasson, who settled in Winn Parish after moving from Alabama, Mrs. Mixon is survived by six daughters, Mrs. C. A. Patrick of Oil City, Mrs. F. R. Curran of New Orleans, Mrs. W. S. Keckler of Lake Charles, Mrs. H. E. Crawford of Winnfield and Mrs. K. C. Simmons and Mrs. Bertha Stovall, both of Dodson; three sons, Joe of Jena, Jack of Lillie, and Capt. Dan Mixon of the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Anchorage, Alaska; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Oren Sholars of Dubach, and one brother, Bill Wasson of San Bernadino, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews.
