Montgomery Called by Death at Good Pine Friday The news of the death of Louis Oliver Montgomery, aged 57, whose untimely demise occurred at his home in Good Pine on last Friday morning at 10:25 o'clock, was received with sorrow by the citizenship of this entire section. Mr. Montgomery had been in ill health for some time, but his death was attributed to high blood pressure after having been confined to his bed for one week. Mr. Montgomery was born in Mississippi on November 23, 1878. Early in life, he joined the Baptist Church and was a member of the Good Pine Church at the time of his death. His wife, the former Miss Dolly Brister, was also a native of Mississippi and she, with one son, Otis, of Urania, and two daughters, Miss Marjorie, a teacher in the Urania school and Miss Donis, of Good Pine, as well as a score of other relatives survive him. The deceased was a graduate of the law department of Mississippi College and practice his profession in Brookhaven for five years. Tiring of the legal profession, he entered the sawmill business in Brookhaven and came to Good Pine ten years ago as yard foreman for the Tall Timber Lumber Company. He had charge of the shipping of all of the surplus Tall Timber stock at the time of his death. The body was conveyed overland to Brookhaven, Miss., by Kenner & Stevens, Jena undertakers, on Saturday morning. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill Church near Brookhaven Sunday morning at 11 o'clock with his pastor, Rev. R. L. Bridges, of Good Pine officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Terry, of Brookhaven. Mr. Montgomery was a member of Caretta Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, at Trout.
