B. Curry, C. H. Timberlake, S. O. Capps, A. J. Smith and W. E. Brannon on Monday returned a verdict that "Buck Myles came to his death from pistol shot wounds at the hands of b. E. Doughty, acting in the discharge of his duty as marshal of the Ton of Tullos. Justifiable homicide." According to witnesses, Doughty had attempted to arrest Myles in the Tullos community and Myles is alleged to have taken an ice pick and stabbed the Marshal. Doughty is alleged to have shot in self defense. Dr. Fred Hamilton, parish coroner, was called to Tullos where he impaneled the coroner's jury which returned the above verdict. No arrest was made and it is not probably that any arrests will be made since the coroner's jury returned their verdict showing justifiable homicide. Myles is the son of Geo. W. Myles, and has been a resident of the Tullos section for sometime. He is said to have been around 27 years of age.
