All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: February 27, 1941 Headline: Ms. Fred Minard Dies of Injuries Received in Car Accident Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Minard, 32, who died in a Winnfield hospital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday following an automobile accident some time Friday morning between Winnfield and Natchitoches, were held at the First Methodist Church in Urania at 1:30 Monday with interment in a Monroe cemetery late Monday evening. Other occupants injured in the accident were; Mrs. Minard's husband and sister, Miss Mildred Cotton of Monroe. Miss Cotton, who was seriously injured, was carried to Monroe hospital Sunday and Mr. Minard was carried to his home in Urania. The three were injured when their car left the highway and turned over several times. All were rushed to the Winnfield hospital. Mr.s Minard is survived by her husband; her father, Joe Cotton, Monroe; three brothers: Wade and Earl Cotton, Monroe; and Lore Cotton, who is in the Army at Camp Hulen, Texas; and two sisters, Mr. F. T. Peters and Miss Mildred Cotton, Monroe. The Minards were en route to Monroe from Natchitoches where they had gone to bring Miss Cotton, a student at Louisiana State Normal College to her home in Monroe.
